Most important thing, NO RUST! NO ACCIDENTS!
I take pride In my work and I don't build garbage. I build this for my trackdays and I need it to be safe, reliable and fun. A lot of details and thoughts went into this project, there is always a reason why I spent my time to do a certain thing. Just ask if you have any questions.
Most people on the Volvo forums will say just buy a turbo.
For sure, the turbo will be quicker and so much easier to make power, but the NA will be lighter,(no 50lb sunroof mounted high up), perhaps more reliable, and make this car more challenging to drive fast, and that was what I was after, to improve my driving skills.
I managed 1:42.22 at Mosport GP with engine still not tuned/dynoed properly and I wasn't even focusing on driving fast.
With my old engine that got 330,000km which blew up last year(Rod bearing failure), my optimal laptime was 1:40.00.
I got a video and a lap timer to prove.
With a quicker driver, 1:40 should not be too hard to achieve consistently.
Not a super quick wagon but it is fun, reliable and the sound of the Volvo 5 cylinder NA engine definitely turn heads at events. Great for promoting your business, especially with so much real estate of body panels.
A turnkey track car. You can drive it to the track if you wanted to, all factory seat belt mounting points are retained and all safety related items are intact and fully operational, other than the airbags.
Reason for selling? I need to focus on my 740 turbo wagon track car build.
