5 podiums in 6 Pirelli World Challenge races for Glenn Nixon after BIR weekend

On Aug 30, 31 TC, TCA, TCB teams headed to Brainerd International Raceway for Rounds 11 and 12 of Pirelli World Challenge.

And #58 Glenn Nixon delivers again - 2nd place finishes in Racing.ca / LaptopScreen.com Mini Cooper in both Saturday and Sunday races!

"The Racing.ca teammates went 1-2 in TCB. Kisel, of North Vancouver, B.C., set a best time of 1:54.645 in the No. 57 Racing.ca/LaptopScreen.com Mini Cooper. Glenn Nixon, of Mission, B.C., in the No. 58 Racing.ca/LaptopScreen.com/Nixon Prosports Mini Cooper was second at 1:54.802.

Nathan Stacy, of Owasso, Okla., was third in the No. 14 MDG/Ford Racing Ford Fiesta at 1:55.110."

Qualifying:

TCB qualifying session was affected by unexpected rain, #58 qualified 5th and #57 - 8th.


Round 11:

Schwartz, of Denmark, began from pole in the No. 12 Promatex/ADA/Animas American Honda Honda Fit and mostly fought 14-year-old Stacy, of Owasso, Okla., in the No. 14 MDG/Ford Racing Ford Fiesta for the overall lead.

Behind them, Paul Holton, of Tallahassee, Fla., in the No. 65 Radium/TRUECar/Lucas Oil Honda Fit and Glenn Nixon, of Mission, B.C., in the No. 58 Racing.ca/LaptopScreen.com/Nixon Prosports Mini Cooper had a great scrap for third.

Stacy stumbled in the final two laps when in traffic, and Nixon was able to make it past for second as well. The second-to-last lap saw a dead heat at the line with Nixon leading Schwartz by inches at the start/finish line, but Schwartz was able to hold him off through Turn 1.

In the same race Racing.ca's #57 Andrei Kisel was runing strong in 6th place when 3 laps to go he had to retire with an an unfortunate flat tire.

Round 12:

Schwartz, of Denmark, started third in the No. 12 Promatex/ADA/Animas American Honda Honda Fit. He made the move on Holton, of Tallahassee, Fla., in the No. 65 Radium/TRUECar/Lucas Oil Honda Fit for the lead on Lap 3 and never looked back en route to the win. This is the Garrett Racing/Drive4Diabetes team’s third win in a row in TCB.

Holton was on pace for a runner-up finish but fell from second to fourth on the final lap. As a result, Glenn Nixon, of Mission, B.C., in the No. 58 Racing.ca/LaptopScreen.com/Nixon Prosports Mini Cooper and Tyler Palmer, of San Diego, Calif., in the No. 37

MINI USA/Mobil 1/Flying L Racing/ThePainter’sFriend.com/Discount Tire Mini Cooper were both able to leap into podium positions with Holton falling to fourth on the 22nd and final lap.

Kisel had a good race fighting for 5th spot in eaarly part of the race and eventually crossed the finish line in seventh.
