For sale is a 1997 BMW M3 race car. ( actual M3 ) Imported from KY US. Has a KY title. I have all RIV papers. Never in a collision. Straight as an arrow NO RUST. Unfortunately my financial situation has forced me to part with my dream M3. I'm investing in my current business and have no time or money left to continue racing, and it pains me to see it sitting around. I'm hoping to find someone to complete it, and have in my opinion an amazing build! This has been a three year project in the making. This car was built to compete in SCCA T1/NASA GTS 3-4.Therefore complies to the GCR's in both groups. Not sure where in CASC it would be best suited. Maybe GT4???...again not sure. As far as logbook it does not have one atm. This car has been professionaly built to a very high quality standard with no expense spared. A lot of great people in the business have contributed with this project. It is roughly 90-95% finished. I could talk forever on this car and the blood /sweat/tears and $$$$$$$ it took to get it here. I almost have in the neighbourhood of 80K invested and hundreds of man hours. A lot of parts on this car were custom fabricated. This car has 0 hrs running time it is practically brand new as are most of it's components. All electrical is done, all engine related items are completed. Pre wired for ABS/TC, electric power steering and electric water pump if so desired. AMB transponder included. ENGINE: 0 hrs. We opted for a lightweight M52b28TU all aluminum engine block. Non Vanos. It was built by McLaren Performance in Livonia MI. Designed for lightweight/high revving. Cylinder head work includes: Full custom porting, multi angle valve job, +1mm seats blend bowls, re surface, 288 Schrick Cams, solid lifter kit, custom titanium 6mm single groove keeper all titanium valves. Titanium springs/keepers/retainers. New chains/guides/tensioners. ARP studs on mains/rods/head. Custon engine harness for AEM Infinity 6 stand alone ECU. New S50b32 Injectors/Adj fuel pressure reg. Custom wrapped M50 intake, overbore Throttle body, custom airbox. Stewart water pump w/lightweight underdrive aluminum pulley, GM small lightweight racing alternator w/underdrive titanium pulley, Mishimoto Rad, Bav auto ignition coils, EGK Plugs, All engine sensors/seals and gaskets are brand new OEM BMW. Engine block includes de burring, line honing of mains, deck surface, 1mm cylinder overbove(w/ torque plate) head bolt oversize inserts installed, shot peened/balanced stock rods, custom lightweight forged aluminum JE pistons. 2.8L lightened crank, polished/balanced/knife edged. Coated racing bearings on main/rods. Custom baffled/trap oil pan with new oil pump(secured nut). Lightened/balanced stock M50 crank damper. Front mounted custom oil cooler/stainless braided lines/AN fittings. The engine was only turned over for internal component testing and to build oil presuure. Post testing compression #'S 240-245 lbs cold across all 6 cylinders.
Suspension: 0 hrs Custom valved(Team Schirmer Germany spec) Nitron (UK) R3 triple adjustable/remote reservoir coil over kit for M3. Spring rates 950/850lbs. Custom MCE Tuning Nascar style blade adjustable swaybars/mounting/rod ends and links. Custom aluminum strut tower brace. M3 aluminun front lower control arms, rear custom chromoly fully adjustable upper and lower control arms on swivel rod ends. Custom swivel rear trailing arm bushings. Solid aluminum bushings on trans mount/rear subframe/engine/diff. Also custom 4th diff mount on housing. All new front hubs and rear wheel bearings.
Brakes: 0 hrs. Stock M3 fully rebuilt w/ Turner Motorsports pin upgrade front and rear calipers. Hawk DTC pads 60 fronts 70 rears. Coated/braided lines with matching clutch line. ATE racing blue fluid. Hard Motorsports brake cooling kit. Custom Autocore two piece front rotors bought slightly used. New stock m3 rear rotors. Wheel stud conversion. One set of 17" D-Force LTW painted blue on Hoosier R6 245/45R17
Exhaust: 0 hrs. Custom SS fabricated with port matching stepped headers. Custom SS x-pipe to 3" flat pipe side exiting exhaust with SS racing muffler. Dual Wideband O2 sensors.
Chassis: M3 body completely stripped, reinforced the weak factory chassis and suspension points and engine cradle plus rear subframe. Reinforced and stich welded strut towers. All unnecessary weight removed. Custom Chromoly 8pt roll cage. One of the best I've seen! This was a crazy collaboration between us and Pratt&Miller Racing former chassis engineer. It was specifically designed to address all of the chassis shortcomings/safety/stiffness. Rear x-brace ties into rear subframe. Gutted metal doors/trunk lid. Rear spare tire well removed. Custom front rad support. Custom Carbon roof/hood and rear wing. Removeable front bumper and splitter. Custom lightweight headlights.
Trans&Diff: Stock low mileage around 65K M3 ZF 5 speed manual. New Z3 shifter with solid bushings. New fluid and rear seal. Stock m3 driveshaft with new hanger bearing and Guibo. Completely rebuilt 0 hrs. M3 differential with Carbonetics 2.0 Carbon LSD unit and 4.10:1 gear ratio.
Interior/safety: Stock dashboard, Sparco Circuit seat, Schroth side net, Sparco steering wheel, Hard Motorsports kill switch panel/center vent delete. Painless Performance Products fuse box and switch panel. Custom electrical wiring(aviation grade). Dual fuel pump upgrade. Stock fuel tank. AEM AFM gauge on CB panel. Driver side dead pedal floor panel. RJS side net. Optima battery. AIM dash. Helmet hook, radio box. Custom race spec lexan windows all around.
