If you're looking for a vintage Formula Ford that you can take to the track and go racing right away, this is one worth looking at. I've owned this 45F since 2022, and it has been my introduction to wheel-to-wheel racing. I've absolutely loved this car. It's been an incredibly rewarding car to learn in — forgiving enough to build confidence, but still fast and engaging enough that there's always something to improve.

More importantly, this car has been maintained as a race car, not just stored as a collector car.

All repair, maintenance, inspections and engine work during my ownership have been performed exclusively by Britain West Motorsports, one of the premier Formula Ford/vintage race-car shops in Ontario. The car has received regular annual inspections and significant refresh work every year.

And the big one: ? NEW BRITAIN WEST ENGINE — INSTALLED 2023 (destroyed the bottom end in year one of ownership). The new engine was installed by Britain West Motorsports in 2023 and currently has approximately 21 running hours. (engine timer installed) Of those hours, I estimate half to been actual racing/load hours, with the remainder being testing, practice, warm-up, setup, etc.

The car has continued to receive annual pre-season inspections and maintenance since the new engine was installed. In other words, the expensive stuff has already been done.

The Car's History
This is one of the sister cars originally restored by Brian Graham Racing (BGR), with the restoration completed in 2020. That restoration was extensive. The chassis was stripped, inspected and repaired as necessary before being powder coated. Cockpit side-intrusion bars were added, and a new stainless-steel floor was bonded and riveted into place.
The restoration also included:

• New aluminum side panels
• New fuel cell and surround
• Uprights, stub axles and drive flanges disassembled and Mag treated
• New wheel bearings
• Original Spax shock absorbers rebuilt

The car was subsequently owned and raced by Chris Evans, from whom I purchased it in 2022.
The car has an up-to-date log book dating back to 2020, when the complete refresh/restoration was performed by Brian Graham Racing (BGR).

Why I'm Selling It
This car was my introduction to wheel-to-wheel racing, and I've genuinely enjoyed every minute of it.

The 45F has been a fantastic teacher. It's straightforward to drive, relatively easy to maintain, and gives you tremendous feedback as a driver. It's a car where you can concentrate on improving your driving rather than constantly wondering what the car is going to do next.

I'm now ready to let someone else enjoy it.

I'm particularly proud of the maintenance history because this isn't a car that has been sitting around waiting for the next owner to sort out a long list of issues. It has been actively maintained, inspected and refreshed by Britain West Motorsports throughout my ownership.

With the 2023 Britain West engine at only approximately 21 running hours, annual inspections, recent clutch and gearbox work, current 2026 tech, fresh fluids, and a healthy collection of spares, this is a properly sorted, ready-to-race Crosslé 45F.
