Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Motorsport Vehicle Technician to join our race team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal on-track performance, reliability, and safety of our race cars. Working closely with race engineers, performance analysts, and drivers, you will focus on vehicle setup, maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting during testing, practice, qualifying, and race events. This position requires travel to race circuits and a commitment to delivering peak performance under high-pressure conditions.
As part of the Auto Eclectic Motorsports development ethos, we offer an exciting development program aimed at nurturing emerging talent in motorsports, where you will gain invaluable hands-on experience working with a diverse range of high-performance chassis platforms such as:

• F1200 / Formula Vee
• Radical SR3
• GT4

This variety will allow you to develop versatile skills in vehicle setup, on-track optimization, and performance assurance across entry-level single-seaters, sports prototypes, and professional GT machinery, providing a strong foundation for aspiring technicians seeking real-world motorsport experience and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-session vehicle inspections, setups, and adjustments to optimize handling, suspension, aerodynamics, tires, and overall balance for maximum on-track performance.
• Implement trackside modifications based on driver feedback, telemetry data, and engineering input to enhance speed, stability, and lap times.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly during sessions to minimize downtime and maintain competitive performance.
• Assemble, disassemble, and maintain critical components such as suspension systems, brakes, drivetrain, gearbox, and cooling systems.
• Collaborate with performance and race engineers to analyze vehicle dynamics, tyre wear, and setup changes, contributing to data-driven decisions.
• Ensure compliance with series regulations, safety standards, and team procedures during all on-track activities.
• Support garage operations at events, including rapid repairs and preparations between sessions.
• Maintain detailed records of vehicle configurations, performance data, modifications, and issues for post-event analysis.
• Assist in workshop-based preparation, testing, and development when not at the track.
• Travel for race weekends, tests, and events (domestic and international).

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a race mechanic or vehicle technician in motorsport (e.g., GT, prototype, single-seater, or similar series) an asset.
• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
• Experience working with data logging tools, telemetry, or basic performance analysis software is highly desirable.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Excellent mechanical aptitude with precision and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, communicating clearly with engineers, drivers, and crew members.
• Strong problem-solving skills for rapid diagnosis and resolution of on-track issues.
• Physical fitness to handle demanding workloads, including lifting heavy components and long hours at events.
• Flexibility for travel and irregular schedules, including weekends and evenings.
• Passion for motorsport and a drive to contribute to on-track success.
• Valid driving license; clean record preferred.

Important: The nature of this role requires flexibility in scheduling. A base schedule for all pre-determined race events will be outlined in the initial contract, with the opportunity for 'adhoc' events on relatively short notice.

Seasonal contract, focused on 11 x 3-day Race weekends from May to October.
