Buckler Autosport Special
1954 Buckler Mk 15 space frame chassis. Extensive period race history. Ran as both a sports car and a formula car (Formula Junior/C) in period.
Bodywork by Autosport. Aluminium, polished and anodized clear. Three Raydot mirrors, and small plexiglass windscreen. Modern roll bar (removable).
Current engine full race 1000 cc BMC with 1275 head. Single Weber carb. Original 918cc Morris fitted with Alta head also available by separate negotiation.
Transmission BMC rib case with close ratio BMC gear set. Rear axle Morris Minor with Buckler conversion (coil over suspension with twin trailing arms and Panhard rod).
Morris Minor front suspension with rebuilt lever shocks. Front brakes 9 inch drums, 7” Rear brakes are Alfin drums on Morris Minor shoes.
Fuel Safe fuel cell. Electric fuel pump.
Interior, well, kinda basic. A nice vinyl seat pad from the 1963 Stebro Mk IV, but basically you sit on the floor between the transmission tunnel and the outside frame rail… Six point harness. Belts now out of date. Fire system located on passenger floor. Instruments are Autometer and in good condition. Moto Lita wheel.
Fibreglass fenders available (ran in period without fenders).
Wheels are VTO aluminium 5.5X14 with Dunlop racing tires. Also four Dunlop Diretezza 14 inchX 6 for rain tires, mounted on spun aluminium rims.
Total number of race weekends on the car since completion (2008) 17. Current CASC-OR logbook with 2019 Annual Tech. Last raced in June, 2019 at Canadian Historic Grand Prix weekend – class winner. 2015 Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance invitee and award winner.
Twin axle open aluminium trailer to fit above also available by separate negotiation.
