Drivers wanted - GB4 UK Series         Recherché

Halifax, NS

We, Atlantic Racing Team of Halifax, NS now looking for well funded young drivers to enter n the newly formed, based in the UK, Formula GB4 and drive as part of our 3 Tatuus F4 car.

Atlantic Racing Team (ATL) is thrilled to announce their decision to enter once again a Junior Championship. It was decided last week to purchase three (3) Gen 1 Tatuus Formula 4 (F4) cars to compete in the newly formed UK-based GB4 Junior Series for 2022. The new series will be regulated in accordance to FIA rules and guided by MSVR (Motor Sport Vision Racing), a well known British motorsport entity!

Atlantic Racing Team (ATL) is proud to be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has operated on the racing scene since 1989. Having started in karting and eventually Formula Ford, Formula BMW (USA/Americas and Pacific), Formula 2000, Formula Renault, GT cars, CN-prototype, LMP3, and Indy Pro Series (IPS), the team has competed Canada, USA, South America, Europe, and Asia. With the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020 and having moved away from their Mercedes GT4 and Norma LMP3 programs, ATL has been missing racing for the last two seasons.
“We are very happy to once again enter a top-notch and professionally operated Junior Series. We selected the UK GB4 series for 2022 and beyond for that exact reason! We are considering a location and discussing details for our UK base, as we did previously in Europe and Asia. With Halifax being only a 5-hour flight from the UK, it will be easy travelling,” explained Team Manager Ingo Strackerjan. He continued, “Our strength was always to get young karters successfully into motorsport and to connect them with international teams once they have shown solid driving talent.

Our choice to go to the UK and with the GB4 series is based on the chassis and engine knowledge, as well as budget requirements as a junior series. Europe (including the German and Italian championships) will operate the new F4 Gen 2 cars for 2022, while the GB4 series will use the ex-European cars. The Tatuus F4-T014 with the 160hp Autotecnica-tuned Fiat 1.4L turbo chassis/engine combination will be homologated for at least three years. The access to sufficient historical data for the car, as well as being proven technology, will help to control costs for any GB4 driver in 2022. This may also attract other international drivers with limited budgets.”
ATL is looking forward to 2022 and the 8-weekend schedule (24 races) at some great racing venues and can’t wait to start pre-season testing!
Costs for the driver will be very reasonable, at an estimated £100,000 to £120,000. This budget will include coaching, engineering, data and all operational personnel .

Each round will feature qualifying and three races.
