Citation FC 1600 (1991)    $15,000     Reported as sold

Kelowna , BC

For sale is a 1991 Citation Formula Continental by ICP (Indy Competition Products) ... SN# FC91-001. This car is setup to run as a Formula Ford 1600, but can easily be converted back to a FC car with the installation of the aero bits. Citation Race Cars in Indianapolis still supports this chassis, and Steve Lathrop will provide whatever parts are needed. The logbooks date back to May/91, so the history is well documented. The car was first raced at Seattle, and was then campaigned on the West Coast by the original owner, including Race City (Calgary), Mission (Vancouver), Portland and Sears Point. The car was then sold to a local Vancouver racer in 1997 where it ran many times at Mission in 98, 99 & 00. After sitting stored away for 5/yrs, the car the car was then sold to its previous owner in 2006 and was raced 1x in its current condition in Oct/07. At some point in 08 or 09, the owner decided to freshen up the car and rebuild it from the frame up. A local race shop did the work, and in Aug/10 the car returned to MRP for 1x race only. It is not clear why, but the car hasn't been on the track since. This car is a true 'Barn Find' (actually an aircraft hanger) which is where I found it tucked away at local airport in Vancouver. My plans were to run the car with my son at MRP, but those plans changed when we relocated to Kelowna where we considered running at Area 27, but the costs are just too much so we bought a fully developed Drift Car which we plan to run at the Penticton Speedway. Since we bought the car, I have sourced a spare set of Panasport wheels which are in excellent condition (rain tires are new and never run, but are aged), along with a set of Transport Wheels with a pin drive hubs. As a bonus, I sourced a 'Parts Inventory' of over 200/+ spares from Bill Maisey in Hampton, VA. His son ran a 95 Citation FC that was converted to run FF1600 which he did in 2011, and include sub frames, upper and lower A-Arms, hubs, axles, steering parts, radiators ... etc (there must be a min of $5K worth of spares). The car appears to be in really good condition but will some 'post storage' maintenance prior to some track time, and is great opportunity to get into a modern FF with inboard shocks and pushrod suspension, with the option to upgrade it to an FC with full aero.
